Jordan Soderholm of Ranger Station on Jewelry, Milestones, and Personal Style

Meet Jordan Soderholm — half of Ranger Station, a longtime Consider customer, and longer still, a friend. She and Steve met Ben and Emily at Belmont, long before either of their businesses existed. Jordan's been wearing Consider since before it was fine jewelry. Every piece in her collection marks a moment: a birth, a wedding, a memory too special not to carry with her.

We had the privilege of diving into Jordan's everyday life, and the pieces that move through it with her.

Tell us a little about Ranger Station and your life in Nashville.

Ranger Station is a Nashville-based fragrance house. My husband Steve is a perfumer, and he creates the scents behind our perfumes and candles in our studio in 12 South.

Steve started Ranger Station in the first weeks of us dating, so I've been along since day one. He had the idea and created the product, and I built a website and styled the shoots. There was no "end goal" when we started, so we are constantly in awe that we've built our lives around this wild idea Steve had in our early 20s.

Steve and I both went to Belmont — where we met our lifelong friends, Ben and Emily. We have three kids. We're rooted in Nashville because of our close friends and family, and we spend a lot of time outside at Percy Warner or Cheekwood, and watching football on the weekends.

What does a typical day look like for you — and what jewelry pieces are you wearing while you live it?

Between my three kids and my work at Ranger Station, every day is a little different! Ideally I get up an hour before the kids so I can read, pray, and catch up on newsletters — lots of Substack and Business of Fashion. We get the kids up, grab a quick breakfast, and get everyone out the door. No matter how much coffee I've had, I'll get another iced coffee and head into the office for meetings. I squeeze in a workout at home before I get the kids, make dinner, and go on a walk before bedtime. I read every night, and work on my Substack, which is my little passion project.

I love my Consider jewelry because I never have to take it off — it just moves through my day with me. I always have my mini huggies in my ears. I also wear my wedding band, chain necklace, and emerald necklace at all times. I really live in all the Consider pieces I've built over the years.

Do you remember the first piece you bought from Consider — what was it, and what drew you to it?

When Emily started Consider, she made these beautiful, dainty gold stacking rings and I was obsessed. I had stackers on almost every finger, then I bought a long pendant necklace I wore with every outfit. I was drawn to the brand because it was beautiful and unfussy.

When Emily started the fine jewelry side of the business, my wedding band was one of the first pieces she made. I was obsessed with baguette diamonds, so she made a baguette band just for me!

Is there a Consider piece that marks a specific milestone or memory for you?

Every single piece I own actually marks a specific milestone. I remember when I had my first baby, William — Emily and Ben dropped an emerald necklace (from Steve) and Chick-fil-A off at the hospital. Not gonna lie, childbirth wasn't my favorite, but I did love getting that necklace after. HA.

I got a ring after my second baby, Sadie, and a gold chain I'd dreamed about forever after my third, Sutton. I wear each piece daily, and they feel extra special because each one has a story.

What Consider piece do you wear the most, and why?

I never take my diamond huggies out of my ears — ever. They are so comfy and I've never found an outfit they don't work with. I don't feel fully dressed without them!

Is there a ritual to how you get dressed — do you always reach for the same pieces, or does it change with the day?

I'm a big believer in dressing for the day you want to have. I always start the week in a more serious outfit so I can get down to business at the office, and by Friday, I'm more laidback and creative in the silhouettes I'm wearing. Even if I'm dressed to the nines, there's an ease to what I wear — it's comfort and functionality over everything else! I try to come up with a new outfit every day to challenge myself creatively, but I take pictures of my outfits too, so if I'm ever in a rut, I can look back at old looks that worked.

What makes a piece of jewelry feel like it belongs to you?

I wear my fine jewelry daily — none of it is too "special" or set aside when I'm traveling, swimming, or getting my hands dirty. So it really does become a part of me.

If you could only keep one piece of jewelry for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why?

I have this gold heart ring that my grandmother gave me, and it is so special to me. Apparently my grandfather gave it to her for Valentine's Day one year. It's really unique and I've never seen anything else like it! It brings me so much joy when I wear it and has become sort of a signature for me.

When you think about your daughters (and son) — is there a piece you already know you'd want them to have someday?

Is it terrible for me to say that I don't want to give my jewelry up? It's become such a part of me! BUT, I absolutely will be giving each of my kids the pieces that Steve gave me when they were born. William will get my emerald necklace, Sadie will get the ring I currently wear as my wedding ring, and Sutton will get my gold chain.

I hope through these pieces they remember the house full of love that they came from. Their dad was so thoughtful and intentional to love on me, and the jewelry is representative of that.

What pieces are on your Consider wishlist right now?

The Heart Bezel Diamond Band is at the very top of my wishlist. I kind of want to get it in a smaller size so I can wear it on my pinky! I'm also obsessed with the Aurora Ring, and I think about it often — I love choosing alternative pieces because they're such conversation starters.
