Meet the Jewelers

We spend so much time sharing our favorite styles and new collections with you, that we figured it was about time we share the stories of the people behind the scenes—those who work tirelessly to fine-tune and produce the heirloom quality jewelry you've come to know and love!

Meet the Jewelers

We sat down with our team of Jewelers for a little Q&A so you could get to know them. It's time to meet our Jewelers!

How did you get started making jewelry?

I started making jewelry in high school as a way to make some extra side money. I began buying beads and wire from a craft store and made pieces for friends. Eventually, I wanted to make engagement rings, so I went to GIA school to learn how to work with precious metals and stones.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part of my job is the satisfaction I feel when a piece is finished. Knowing that so many steps went into the creation of a single piece and that each step adds an element of beauty, brings me joy!

What is your favorite piece you've ever made?

I made a 3 stone rose gold ring for a family friend whose husband passed away. I took the diamonds from her wedding ring and a pair of studs to create a new ring for her to wear every day. The sentimental aspect of the piece made it very special for me.

What do most people not know about jewelry making?

When it comes to jewelry making, there's a very fine line between destruction and creation. We hammer, saw, file and set fire to everything we touch. If you're not constantly attentive and careful, you can do a lot of damage. However, if you know what you're doing, those forces create something beautiful.

How did you get started making jewelry?

I went to work for a small jewelry shop that my parents went to when I was a senior in high school. I started to learn how to make jewelry there.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part of my job is stone setting. I find that it can be very challenging depending on the stone and how you set it.

What is your favorite piece you've ever made?

I don't have a specific favorite. I like the challenge of making jewelry and find that each piece is unique.

What do most people not know about jewelry making?

Most people don't know the amount of time it takes to make a single piece of jewelry.

I was born a jeweler—but seriously, by chance. I never thought I would be a jeweler, especially in the U.S. I guess I am just lucky.

What is your favorite part about your job?

The people I get to work with.

What is your favorite piece you've ever made?

Anything that my wife would like. And anything that is in the process of being made.

What do most people not know about jewelry making?

Most people do not know the technique it takes to manufacture the jewelry and the amount of time that goes into creating a single piece.
