Half Eternity vs Full Eternity
There are so many choices to make when shopping for a wedding band. At first, it might seem like an overwhelming amount of information to take in, but it is important that you have all of the information you need when making your decision. Once you have found your dream band, you may have to decide on whether to get a full eternity or half eternity style. We love and celebrate both, but it is so important that you consider your personal preferences and lifestyle when making your decision. We are here to help make sure you love and treasure your ring forever, no matter what you choose!
What is a Half Eternity? What is a Full Eternity?
Like the name suggests, a half eternity features stones that go around half of the band. A full eternity band will have stones all the way around the band.
What are the pros and cons of Half Eternity styles?
There are several benefits to a half eternity style. Because the stones only go around half of the band, it can be a very cost-effective choice. If you are on a budget, selecting a half eternity is a great way to save on the cost of the ring. Another great thing about half eternity styles is that they can be resized. Throughout your life, your ring size may fluctuate. If you do need to resize your ring for any reason, you are able to do so. Lastly, half eternity styles are durable. Half eternity styles will have metal on the underside of the band which can be both a pro and a con. Because the underside of the ring is metal, you don’t have to be as concerned about stones coming loose but you may have require more polishing over time.
What are the pros and cons of Full Eternity styles?
It is hard to deny the beauty of a full eternity ring. Diamonds shine bright from any angle that you look and you don’t have to worry about the ring spinning around on your finger. However, that beauty can come at a cost. A full eternity is more expensive due to additional diamonds or gemstones and the additional labor it takes to set those stones. The biggest drawback comes down to resizing. Because there is no exposed metal, there is no metal to work with on a resize. Which means if your ring size fluctuates at all, you won’t be able to resize the ring.
When it comes down to full eternity or half eternity, there is no right answer. Only what is right for your preference, budget, and lifestyle. Keep in mind that more sparkle costs more and requires more maintenance so choose what is best for you. We will be here every step of the way no matter what your choice is.
