Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. James 1:19
Some days there's a broken record in my brain repeating this verse because I need it so.
This restraint that James speaks of is proof of spiritual maturity and comes only by being hearers and doers of the Word. He later compares it to bridling a horse, whereby a bit in the animal's mouth allows the rider to guide it's entire body in full obedience.
May this serve as a reminder to listen more than we speak, delight in more than we anger in.
AND YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE. JOHN 8:32
